Whippy or stiff?

Alli can say is i like the cue to be "just right" that may be a sitting on the fence answer but i honestly don't know if my cue is stiff or whippy.

It has an ellement of flex in it but it's not like playing with a length of rope, neither is it like playing with and RSJ

I prefer stiffer solid cues too, thats why I'm going with maple, once Trevs1 finds time for me

well put. i like to think in terms of 'spring' as opposed to stiffness.

many people are obsessed by stiffness. but they are mad

a cue should have a good 'spring' to it. if not, it will play lifeless.

side shots and soft screw need to be 'felt'. and you don't get that with a cue that is too stiff.

a cue that is 'too' whippy will give problems on power shots with deep screw, extreme side, or, particularly, off the cushion, cos it will cause miscues.

anywhere in between the two extremes should be fine.
