Information about this cue please

My Grandfather gave me this cue a while ago, It's old it actually has a wooden screw joint instead of a brass one.

This may just be a cheap cue but if you have any information on these that would be great. I think it says "Alley" but I haven't found anything on Google.

Would this be hand made?

I'm not sure but I think its a crown cue and it looks hand spliced...
I think this may be the case because the splices are rounded and not sharp pointed...may be dont sue me.

Looks like an inexpensive Riley cue to me, but I know very little about snooker cues.

agreed - late 70's or early 80's uk made hand spliced one.

Looks like imitation to me. The wood around the butt doesn't look quality enough to convince me its really hand spliced. Even back then imitated splicing was around. Riley didn't use printed logos on expensive hand made cues put it that way.

I would agree its 70s or 80s and I think my grandfather had it a long time.
