  • A ebony butt is not wholly black

I received my new cue yesterday, but I found that one of the splices is not wholly black. It has a brown line in the butt.

I want to ask that is it normal? Does anyone have a same problem in your cue?

better than having it dyed but you can do that if required - who's cue is it?

I also think that the brown line is too sharp, too obvious. It is not common.

The cue is made by Trevor White.

its very common and becoming more so - jet black ebony is now very very hard to find and expensive when you do.

it would be possible to change the splice but persoanlyy i would leave it it gives it character!

To be honest if i pay over 200 quid for this cue i will expect materials to be of higher quality than this. If around 100 quid, i won't bother about it.

i suspect it cost more than £100 - there is nothing wrong with the materials !!

This mark or streak is like a passport for your cue, its what makes your cue different from everyone elses 3/4 TW cue.
