To buy a cue would be easier than to work hard on the game.

Pool cue makers have made cues with octagonal butts; I've never tried one but it has a certain popularity in the US pool playing fraternity. Longoni made one and a Spanish maker as well, but off the top of my head I can't remember their name. If you type "octagonal pool cue butt" in google you'll find photos of a Longoni one and I'll try and dig up the Spanish one if I can.
Hope this helps.Il n'y a pas de problemes; il n'y a que des solutions qu'on n'a pas encore trouvées.

A similar thing has been going on in the realm of fly fishing rods (I'm a keen angler), perhaps you could adapt this idea
