  • removing varnish ...

as far as I'm concerned, anything to do with DIY is difficult ... Haynes' car manuals used to be the best - just undo that bolt - well yes Mr Haynes, I can see where you're coming from but the simple facts are you are dismantling a brand new car with all sorts of tools at your disposal ... you wouldn't be so confident if you were working on my 30yr old rust bucket ...

however, removing varnish from a varnished cue is so much easier ... as a DIY-a-phobe, I took this task on with some trepidation ... 10 minutes later using 600 (fine) sandpaper, job done ... it's amazing how easily the varnish comes off and it's even more amazing how much nicer your cue plays afterwards ...

I guess I could play with the raw wood but I thought I'd better feed it with some linseed oil (raw) ... that's quite amazing too ... just soaks in, don't worry if you get it on your hands ...

no wonder cuemakers wives always have a smile on their face

    Careful Dandy...

    Skin Contact:
Low order of toxicity, frequent or prolonged contact may irritate and cause dermatitis.

And when i have used it alot, before i used gloves, inbetween my knuckles the skin gets very dry and starts to crack and itchy. Be careful and always read the label
