Errr...No, but it defo needs more moisture IMO...lol...

It's very very hard stuff bud.

Folk dont want to muck about that much(well i don't) and applying this product as it is is a real nightmare. I use a few wax products for a few different things, including top carnauba wax products and they all have something added to make the carnauba easier.softer to work with...

This is all this needs, MORE MOISTURE, or less carnauba....LOL...

        apologies

Yes they all have been sent.

and with regards to the the hardness, I have realised that in that batch that I have sent out I have applied to much carnauba wax, This will give it amazing hardness, and very fine finish, but there is a little to much.
You can either use either a cloth dipped in turps, which will soften and liquefy the wax on to the cloth, or by heating the tin in simmering water.
I will have to do some more experimenting with combinations to perfect the recipe, I have been using it for some time now, so should not take long to correct. As soon as I have gotten the correct formula, then I will resend the samples out.
Sorry if this has been a bit of a damp squib, but I'll get it right... I'll keep you informed.

I just tried using a bit of turps and it is much easier to use now, just done a bit more of the butt, i'll let you know how it turns out...d'oh...

you do need to make sure that the wax is allowed to cure and that all of the turps has evaporated. A cloth is more than adequate to polish the cue, but I find a polishing mop mounted on a horizontal drill works best, as it creates more friction so enabling for a higher gloss finish. I do this in thin coats, building and polishing the layers. I also find using thick rounded glass helps especially on shafts as it burnishes to a high shine.
            Hope that helps.

Just done the butt with one coat and it is looking good now, after just one quick application, happy daze..

will get a few more applicatins on over next day or 2 and try to post some pics, it is looking tidy fairplay, i hope it's all good, i stripped my trev back to bare timber to try this stuff....

              Cheers bud...

(Only joking on stripping my trev back, it's on another cue i have been messing about with, trying to hone my cue finishing skills, amongst other things)...

Well, just been polishing up the butt after the first 'proper' wax application, and i'm very impressed how it's turning out after just a little bit of arm ache...lol.

                    Few more to go yet...

Not sure on the filler mix yet bud tbh, i havn't finalised that yet...lol.

I have a few ideas so I'll have a looksy in a few hardware stores sometime this week and decide there and then...
A few members have posted about grain filler ideas etc...

But....Trying too find out what oil our top cue makers use is another story, it's like a bloody secret sauce recipe highly guarded amongst different makers i tells ya. they don't use just linseed, so i'm not gonna either.... think i've sussed a few ideas on that one tho, i'm gonna potion something up and try a few things i think, see how i get on with another cue i'm gonna refinish after this one...

This cue i'm messing about with now is going to be a complete wax only finish and my next cue i'm gonna strip and refinish is gonna be a secret sauce oil finish......

                              To hairline holes/gaps like this:

better to use grain filler (Rustins or Birchwood Casey Sealer & Filler) or just couple layers of your wax?
