I can only imagine its so people cannot just create an account then harrass people via pm straight away, especially all the cue makers and other people who will have alot of pms coming their way as it is. Its still annoying for people who want to just use the forum to ask questions, i enjoy reading the posts and i might need to pm people, not a massive fan of posting things tbh.

Not sure about that, can't imagine there being many cuemakers who don't want the business? "I'm a businessman but don't harass me wanting to buy stuff"
