  • Paris Cues, any good? Not John parris

Hi all, im thinking of getting a nice snooker cue for my 21st birthday. Looking to spend around the 100-150 pound mark. It would be more but im a poor student -.-

Anyway my questions is this, does anyone know if the paris cues website is any good? Not john parris but paris with one r.
i quite like the look of this one but i can get similar from a number of other places, ie, welshpooltrading (which seems to have hit a nadwidth limit atm), mastercraft, craftsmen etc.

    http://www.pariscues.com/index.php?p...product_id=15#

Does anyone have any experience with sed cues, or would like to reccomend a particular other manufacturer?

    Thanks in advance
sigpic A Truly Beakerific Long Pot Sir!

Actually I think Sebastian's answer sums it up. Whether they do it deliberately or not, do you think they'd be able to sell the same cues at the same prices without effectively sticking another man's name on them?

I've never used a 'Paris' cue but but I'd much rather go with any of the alternatives you list, they all have pretty strong reputations.

            Just to add my vote:
I wouldn't touch company who would call them selves a name that is deliberatly misleading.

Thanks for the answer, i take your point, if you add it to your favourite they even use the same logo as john parris!! little weird red blob with circles round it. I shall take your advice and look elsewhere.

No worries my friend, we all had that moment

btw, with 100-150 pounds you might be able to get a decent machine made cue. but I would suggest you to top up your budget a little bit to get a hand made. Many top cue makers are here on the forum. why not take the advantage?

150 quid will get you 3 or 4 machine splices cues.

there again it'll get you a cracker such as a craftsman ultimate or any of the thai made cues as they really make the best value for money cues.

                        Hi there,

A guy who gos in my local snooker club come with one of these cue about 2 months ago. Me and my mate played a couple of shots with it and the quality is terrible, very poor finish and the guy who cue it was wasnt to happy too!!! He payed £120 and in my opinion he was ripped off big time for the same money Craftsman Cues can sort you out and for a little more Mike Wooldridge Shark Series. You will be disappointed with these cues nasty copies if you ask me

thanks a lot i'll steer well clear then. im extremely tempted by the mike wolldridge shark series but i don't really like the designs and the mini butt is another 40 pounds if i read correctly. Its probably the best i could get for the money but as we all know snooker has a very large psychological (thanks google for the spelling -.- ) element to it, and i feel id be happier one of the designs from one of the other manufacturers. Saying that i have heard good things and im very tempted by the mike wooldridge shark series.

                            .
Yes, I dont see why not.

They are cheap cues and are sold as such.

Have you owned one, touched one or even seen one?

Are you commenting on cues you have not owned or seen or touched?

I though you were really against posters making such un-qualified comment?

You said it was disgusting, remember?

well, I only use 30 euros cues, and sometimes I cant miss a ball, I dont know why some people think if you have a expensive cue you will be a good player...
