  • Has anyone ever come across fake Cues?

Just something that always concerns me is how easy it would be to remove a Cue disc and put it in another.
I recently saw this Cue local to me for sale at ?150, maybe i'm being over cautious but the disc looked slightly suspicious, bit rough round edges and maybe a little glue on front?
Does this look like a genuine Coutts Cue to those who would know, Are fake cues common or would you just genuinelt trust the seller, thanks

sorry, sign in required for these images.
You can use a free image-sharing site such as ImgBB, without registering, to upload your images, you may have to do the “not a robot” checks quickly.
In ImgBB, change the "Embed Code" to "BBCode full linked", hover over the code, a "copy" will appear, click this.
Go to your TSF post and paste. You can repeat for multiple images in a single post.
There are other sites as well.

fake cues are quite common; but I would not say that removing and refitting a badge is easy when seeing the results of messed up and glue-plodged cues being sold sometimes

IIRC Dave Coutts was hit by fakers a few years ago and he added comments on his website at that time.

Thanks, just don't want to pay premium for something else, though guess always a risk on sales sites. He did say he would accept a return if not happy though, guess least could have a look and if any doubts return it.
Was hoping someone may know from the Joint or possibly even the splicing/design
