  • Looking for a Steel Block Table. Riley/B&W/BCE

    Hi all

Looking for a snooker table. Riley Aristocrat, Burroughs & Watts, or something similar. Preferably something with steel block cushions. If anyone has anything or knows of a table get in touch.

    Many thanks

I’ve got no idea of cost of tables but it looks in good nick. Is that the average cost of a table like that ?. It seems a bargain ..

Not an Aristo, this one looks like an old Riley Club table, but has steel block cushions. Could be a fixer upper, looks fairly tidy as it is. If you consider the cost of steels this price isnt too bad either. Might be worth a drive to take an inspection if your are near Goole...

Looks like they’ve had a few good nights in there considering the amount of bottles

Lolz, yes definitely looks like a full bar.

The nice old B&W table posted above, fetch that kind of money more due to their antique and period features, they were very well made and very solid. I have heard a lot of people say though that if you want to replicate pro table conditions they are not the table to go for. For 3k you should be able to get a newer Aristocrat or BCE Westbury which get a lot closer if set up well to pro conditions.

This is what I'm thinking. Also someone on here posted about the middle pockets on the B&W as well as the conditions trying to get them heated and with faster cloth.

Spending a lot on this outbuilding, want to do this once and be proud of it. Hopefully without going bankrupt!

I’m a sucker for old snooker things ..
Thanks for the info , I thought you might have some input .
With the price of tables these days I can see why it makes sense to get a few of you to rent a place off your own with your own table or two.

The B&W tables are solid and very well made ,that one for sale has beautiful grained mahogany ,but they do suffer from middle pocket bounce out on hard hit shots ,Alpharetta from that you can set them up to pro table standard ,you will also have heavy 2 inch Welsh slate which is the best you can get .B C E Westbury and Riley Aristocrat were both used in all pro events for many years ,and as modern match tables play great .Not much in it between all three really as they are all steel block ,the Riley would make a great strip down project if bought at a good price .
