Reclothing a snooker table is very difficult indeed. I would look for a qualified table fitter to do the job.

I wouldn't be able to explain to you how to do it, but here are some pictures of a table fitter reclothing a table: www.websf.co.uk/baukline_gallery.html

Considering the cost of cloth on its own is it not worth buying cloth from a table fitter and getting him to install it himself?

I agree unless your 10000000% sure and confident its not a DIY jobbie mate.

but it doesnt matter to me....
and the cost to get some people to help me fix it is tremendous....

If I where a novice like youreself , I would do what an apprentice would be tasked to do first , and thats practice with second hand cloths first , same with recovering cushions , tear old bed cloth into 6 inch strips and practice with that , until you feel confident to use new cloth .
I am sorry I cannot divulge how to recover the table as that would be putting work away from a skilled fitter who has spent 4 years as an apprentice and another 4 years perfecting his trade , thats a long time to learn to do this job , and you cannot expect to get anywhere near as good a finnished job as a time served Billiards fitter .
but do not mind giving you the second hand cloth tip , all you need to do now is visit as many Snooker clubs in youre area and ask for the old bed cloths , that are normaly put under a table to to just pile up and never see the light of day again .
one word of warning if you do not tension the cloth tight enough , it will tear on the first back spin cue stab in a L shape .

EasySnooker have a double DVD that's a very good guide.

I bought it about a month back, and it's very good. Haven't had the guts to recover my own yet, but I'm going to give it a go before the next season starts.

It just shows what a new cloth can do. I know of a club near me with cloths just as worn as the cloth on your table, if not worse. I really know how rubbish worn cloths are...and how awesome new cloths are!

i've been doing some research on the forum which everyone is talking about
                              hainsworth and strachan brand cloths
                              and mine is strachan
so i assume it shouldnt be that bad~~
so right now all i need to think is
am i getting a fitter or do it myself
                              if i do it myself
it will save me around 700 aud
which is enough for lots of stuff
                              whatd u guys say??
