When I was working, would have been easy for me to have my own room for a snooker table, but thought I would get bored practising on my own and having someone come round to play, but would not be same as playing at a club.
You really do need to be dedicated to spend hours on your own practising. The building part would not have been a problem, as I was a builder and had plenty of room. Have even thought about it again lately, but decided not to bother at my great age ... lol.

nice one they have started mine now but i keep getting worried what if i get board.supose i culd use it as a jim or a real potting shed lol.acrowot if u were a builder what do u think of building it in 140mm concrete blocks single skin .this is how mine is getting built.

Had mine built and table installed on Friday.

Fwiw, mine is exactly the same as a normal build, double skin blockwork with insulaton, proper roof, no different to a bungalow. Not the cheapest way to go but it is a lovely addition to my house. Had it as a gym at first but now its a snooker room, cant wait.

You can buy these huge wooden buildings now and one at 22 by 16 will cost around 14k, but then add on your electrics etc etc.

Depends on your budget really and very importantly your garden size, will it look toooo big. Also, check your local building planning/regulations because if its not legal they can make you bang it down.

Would love to have something like this in future. Would also be great to have a house with a big loft and convert that into a huge snooker room. Don't know how feasible getting a table up 3 floors would be, but if it was possibly a big loft space would make a great snooker/bar/games room wouldn't it.

Jack Wright (Boston) who was one of the best billiard players in the country in the 50's, along with brother Reg (Leicester), had a snooker table upstairs in his house, but cannot remember whether it was in false roof or not. I would think you would need to strengthen the joists to carry a billiard table, or it would soon start to sag.

Yes, I think it would find its way downstairs very quickly. You would need an expert to survey what you wre proposing! With some Velux roof lights I can't see why it wouldn't work assuming it was high enough.
