            also, as it is not for habitation you don't have to have a cavity, just single block construction is ok.

                pros and cons of both; single skin and insulted does not necessarily mean damp, etc.
                cavity no insulation but higher cost

                • Dean urs timber or blocks?
                  Im worried if i do single block and boardit and skim inside ill end upwith damp?
                  Brick front could get water inbetween mortar joints? Just want to make sure whats best all round

                  • not got mine yet
                    but planning single block, insulated inside and outside coated with that new modern render type stuff that I can never remember the name of, and then inside have a AC/dehumidifier
                    I will have windows both ends and large double door on the side - more windows doors = less cost of blocks

                    also, my brother in law has done this himself, and I hope to have solar panels to run it all

                    • I searched block shed and first thing that comes up is help damp in my block shed thats what is puttin me off
                      A friend did say build it single block render the whole lot even the front dont have bricks waterproof render
                      To insulate inside would you be doing

                      Studs at 45 centres insulate what mil? Celotec?
                      Then board and plaster?

                          More windows= less cost of bricks, not sure how you work that one out Dean. Good double glazed windows and particularly decent double doors will certainly add a lot of cost to the project.

                          I wouldn't go down the solar panel route either or AC.

                                Why go to to all that trouble. A good Oil-free radiator will be fine.
