It looks very good. Fascinating to watch craftsmen isn't it? They make it look so easy... but just you try doing it yourself! I wish I had taken some photos of my table being assembled but I forgot!

Here are some pictures of my table during the installation and post installation. Thankyou for everyones advise last year when I was deciding what table to buy and what pocket size to have. As you can see from the pictures with the pocket templates, I went for near tournament cut pockets openings.
You can see pictures of Leighton and his son installing the table. Leighton installs the tables for the tournaments.
I had the lights specially made as I could not find any on the market that I liked.

Haven't seen Leighton for years - he worked for Riley's when I first started with them 1999? I think. Is he independent now? Presume from what you said he still sets up the tables for World Snooker. Looks a fine job. What cloth? 6811 Tournament?

The lights look fine to me - very similar to the ones BCE supply.

If only I'd stuck to my guns instead of the decking I've had built and maybe I'd have a great room like that... JEALOUS... Nah.. not really.. Good on yer...

Hi Tom,

When your older and wiser you'll learn you can't have everything your own way. There are compromises to be made with the "dragon". Unfortunately, in this case it was the wallpaper. I did not have much say in the matter! I know you mean it as a joke but I have already discussed changing the wallpaper with my wife a couple of times, but that's a step too far at the present moment. I'm still working on it, fingers crossed!!!

Welcome to the forum.

This is a Riley Aristocrat with Steel Block Cushions with 5 Piece Italian Slate. The pockets openings comply with WSA official template specifications. If you go through my pics you can see the templates the fitters use as they check the openings after assembling the cushions. I'm not sure how thick the slates are but they are tournament standard size (I think about 1 1/2")).

Riley were the official table suppliers to World Snooker until last year. Imho it is a shame that Star Table have taken over that role as official table suppliers to World Snooker as I do not think they are as good as The Riley Aristocrat Tables. I have played on The Star TournamentTables a few times so I know the difference. To be fair to Star there is not much of a difference between the tables but it is noticeable (just my opinion).

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you have the ultimate table - I congratulate and envy you. I wish I had a Riley option over here. Unless I stumble on a good used table, I will probably go with Olhausen mainly because I'm not aware of a better table maker in the USA (at least so far in my quest). I have already discussed shipping options with some overseas manufacturers and the cost is too prohibitive. Olhausen said they will customize for me and work with me on pocket dimensions, etc.

Twenty years ago, I played snooker a lot but now I can't even find a snooker table in most billiard parlors. Everybody plays eight and nine ball. On a regular pool table, I like straight pool but most people don't play that either anymore. So when my darling wife asked if I wanted to get a pool table, I naturally said "how about a snooker table". We do have a room that will accommodate a 10 footer and still leave playing room. One of my neighbors is a pretty good straight pool player and is ripe for learning snooker. I'm looking forward to it.

I feel for you brother.

Good look with your table. Snooker is a funny game. I guess you have it in your blood. I, like yourself, have been in and out of snooker but never far away from it. Its lucky that you have a neighbour who takes an interest in snooker.

A 10 foot table is a million times better than no access to a snooker table!
