  • Snooker Table Quality

I am a new member and plan to purchase a snooker table later this spring. Right now, I am trying to decide on a good table manufacturer who can deliver to my region of the world (I live in the USA). I have gotten some early quotes from a company that I just don't know anything about and I was wondering if anyone has an opinion. The company is called CusZoom Custom Pool Tables. I will put a link in this message to their web site.

Another US-based company is Olhausen. I am looking for a quality built 10' x 5' table. Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.

I would recommend you go to Olhausen as they do make proper snooker tables although their pocket templates are very tight and should be brought out to 3.5in or so.

I've never heard of CusZoom and I would be a little suspicious of a company I've never heard of.

Also, if you have the space, get a 6 x 12 table (you need 16 x 22 minimum for clearance) as with 15 reds on a 10ft table it gets a little jammed up and it's not REALLY snooker!

You can also purchase really decent used tables on EBay.ca (Canadian one) however you'll be left with setting the table up yourself and unless you know what you're doing that can be a difficult job.

If you live in the northern States, a fellow here, Odie Willet, does sell used tables and will travel and set them up for customers (for a price of course)

Thank you, Terry. A 6' x 12' would not be possible, unfortunately, in the room I will be putting it in. A 5' x 10' will just fit with enough room for full cuing around the table.

CusZoom's website claims they have been doing this a while and they offer a lifetime warranty but I agree with you that Olhausen at least is a reputable name. I don't live in the northern states nor am I skilled enough to set this up myself so I have to look to a company that can come to me. I have been checking and will continue to check for used tables. Thanks for the tip about Olhausen's pockets, too.

One other question: for a 10' table, what slate thickness would you recommend? Thanks again.
