steel block cushions without wood

on ebay are sold steel block cushions without wood.



I would like to buy it but I do not know what to do with wood. someone can give me some advice? worth buying the cushions without wood? and if I buy it, where I can get wood?

I think this is good for a table witch is without steel block. Do you have one?
Then you need to convert your old cushion's wood to the new...
But it's just a theory....
