Im looking to buy a second hand 9ft snooker table.Ive seen one with a 5 piece slate bed is this to be considered less inferior than say a 2 or 1 piece slate or is there no difference.
Also thinking of putting it in upstairs of garage with wooden joists is this considered feasible been told average 9ft table would weigh about 650-700kilos.please advise.

9 ft tables normaly have three section slate , less joints in a tables slate bed is Better , with a 5 piece 9ft you have 4 joints to get correct with a three piece its only 2 joints to sort out

the modern 5 piece 9 foot would be better to carry upstairs though as the sections of slate would be lighter .

Without knowing the thickness of the joists and their lenth it would be impossible for anyone to give any info , but see no reason why a 9 foot could not be too heavy on most upper floors , providing the upper floor of the garage was built to take weight , and not just a loft void converted without any joist strenthening .
