  • Not enough Room ? Room not Large enough

Today I was instructed to remove a Karnhem and Hillman Buckingham table from a converted stable block in the cotswolds , when I got there and veiwed the table I could not believe the owner had selected a Full sized table for a room that was obvious to the eye without getting a tape measure out that Playing on the table was near impossible .
The table had been in situ for a few years and the cloth looked as though it had only seen one game of action , in fact the bed cloth is that good I graded it 10/10 and will be going on one of our own tables in Selby
the table is in for full refurb of cushions and a recover , then it will be in the for sale stock .
there is only 29 inch from the side wall to the side of the table cushions and roughly 42 inch from each end wall to end cushions .
I had to stand in the next room to take the photo to get most of it in , you can see the door catch to the right .

Oh dear what a total waste of a decent table! I wonder why a F/S was ever put in that room?

So if my arithmetic is correct the room is about 19' x 11'. It would not quite take a 10' table then but you could manage.

I understand that this happens from time to time. There was a very good episode of Steptoe & Son involving just this. I think it is always worth repeating that the open space of 22 x 16 is the MINIMUM and even at that you will only get maybe a chair in the corners and nothing else.

Well today it has happened again , a room that is not large enough for the table , this time a Riley 9ft a little more room than the last photo of the K & hillman but only 3ft down each side and 4ft 4inch at the ends .
