CGQ. There is nothing to stop you selling their used tables and they can`t stop you showing pictures. So long as you don`t use their pictures which may be copyrighted. I too have had there heavy handed threats, but I told them to get lost. I suppose they have to protect their ever diminishing market share. More fool them for overcharging in the first
    instance.

So sapele panelling would be OK as panelling to match a mahogany table? A good polisher would manage to match them?

I suppose if you are running a tournament you are maybe looking for different qualities in a table. Quick and easy assembly and disassembly. Sponsorship - of course and as good a playing surface as possible. If buying one for home or a club then it is going to be in situ for a very long period so speed of knock down just isn't a consideration but quality appearance and classic lines and materials are.

Yes. So many people, though, think they are going to pay a small price and get a big bun! It just can't be done. The TV auction sites and many places on the internet rely on people's stupidity, gullibility and greed as do almost all confidence tricksters.

I don't mind if a table is made of laminated plywood, aluminum or even uPVC as far as it is rigid and stable enough. The thing that matters the most is the playing surface.

Yes Philip. Sapele veneered MDF is perfect for panelling. Our polisher does it al the time and can match to any table finish. We have a company which manufactures bespoke panels. If you were buying tables to ship, we could supply matching panels to ship with tables.

Burroughs and watts imho where the best tables ever made. If they where still going now it would be a crime not to use them as official supplier instead of star.
