Tables and screw back

I have always wondered why professionals get so much spin effortlessly.Is it due to their cue action or is it the table cloth and bed which contribute more to such a dramatic reaction.My question is how do table bed and cloth affect the spin on cue ball (basically screw back shot).

I have one more question why a cracking sound comes in the international snooker table when a ball is sunk in and why a dull sound comes the table which i play on.Could u tell me the source of sound.
