Snooker table lights BUILT IN ?????????

Daylight or cool white is the prefered choice , the daylight tube is slightly brighter , but some find the light a bit harsh where others think they are great , the Cool white are bright but not as harsh to the eye . Both of these tubes are white light not yellow .

Sorry for the delay , hopefully these pictures will all come out OK . As you can see you have to have some imagination as to this becoming a snooker room. And you may think my worrying about lights is premature.

Im doing it myself but I have a 10 week time schedule. Which goes something like this , were starting the trench dig in the morning and have an inspection booked for Wednesday next week , pouring Thursday or Friday (week1). Theres around 1800 blocks in the job , laying 100 perday thats weeks 2, 3,4 and 5 which includes the floor which is block and beam. week 6 is all roof, week 7 is drylinning and skimming , week 8 underfloor heating and flowscreed floor. Weeks 9and 10 rendering and tidying. The electric etc will all be done by contractors as we go.The room is 11m x 7 m . All sound so simple on paper , I dont have an idea on price yet but hoping for around 25k before carperts etc

If you're doing most yourself and it's purely a block built and external render I reckon you'll come in way under budget. Including planning apps I'm about 14k into mine at the moment. Another 4k for the roof and I'll be done.
3k for the table and about 2k for the decor and carpentry.
It's the outer skim of bricks that's cost.
Internal dimensions 24ft by 20ft.

All be worth it in the end I guess.

Yes thats a great idea (philip in china) , could be used a future reference for people as were all likely to come across problems which are to us unforseeable to others would then be foreseable.

An update on the building job, 40 tonnes of soil cleared away from trenches and oversite, 21m3 of concrete pumped back in , and we now have block work roughly upto the level of the floor joists which are hopefully going to be delivered on Friday , then I have the weekend to barrow and lay around 600 con blocks between the joists.

Just some quick update photos of the snooker room, seems a long time ago I started thr thread , I was a rich man then , im now broke just awaiting carpets on Friday and table hopefully next week. Still havnt solved the lighting quandry. Im worried that the new style lights will light up the room to much and I will loose that dark snooker room feeling you get with a coffin light. Has anyone tried mounting one of the strip light jobs like the dextra duet inside a coffin light. Ive been looking for the coffin style lights and cant find many for sale ?? any ideas

The last photo shows a wide screen TV , with a coffin shade you will obscure the TV , you realy require two of the Dextra light units for a full size and these do not fit into a coffin shade , Yes the room is a little lighter with the dextra lights , but you will be amazed that the intense lighting is only cast over the table if around 5 foot above the bed of the table , it is when they are fixed higher than this that the light will spread even more , I would advise for youre concerns to suspend the lights on an adjustable pully system so you can set the lights at the most suitable setting for youre play . you will then still have a problem with the TV veiwing if set too low .
But they look a lot better if fixed direct to the ceiling .

Strip lighting lights up the room big time and will do at any height..My 2 LS1200 make the room very bright, so much so that you do not need a score board light. I will be painting my room a darker colour soon as this will help.. Having said that, I would not return to the coffin shades, no way. You will soon get use to it..
