Hi Herbie , well over 18 months have gone by and I am doing all right , I have old and new clients , my Web site seems to bring people in from all over , today I am off to Butlins in skegness for a weeks work , on the run upto christmas I have work in Perth Scotland , Ashbourne , Colwyn Bay in Wales , Clitheroe , North London , Scunthorpe, Newark , Lincoln , Leicester and many in and around Nottingham and Derby to name but a few .
I do have a slack period now and again but always seem to find work when it is not around .
The Cue sports trade has its busy periods and it's slack periods , But from what I have experienced in the last 18 months I am sure there will be enough work out there to see me into retirement , but then again Billiard fitters never retire , I know some well into their late 60s and even 70s that where still doing it .

I still require people to click on my website as some of the search ratings still work , I do pay to be on yell in 4 counties , the 4 close to me , but my web site is for further afield clients mainly large job's such as table move's.
I feel that I have come a long way since I went self employed , when certain people where telling me not to do it as there is not enough work around , I found out they only wanted me not to because it is less competition to them .
I find if you do a good job take your time and also fix faults , then you are much better respected ,When I was employed I had to work in the system of speed fitting and believe me I know which side of the fence I would rather be on , less stress , no middle person taking the major cut , and the Client gets a much better job done .
Thank you for bringing the thread back into life , I am very grateful for members of the Snooker forum taking the time to click on my web site .

as you can see from my posts , my web site link is always displayed at the bottom of the page .

Just had a browse and spent far more time than I had intended! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
                  Good luck.
Can't pretend I understand any or the technical feedback you've received, but they seem to know what they are talking about.

There might be better fitters than Geoff, there might be more honest fitters than Geoff and there might be generally nicer guys than Geoff.

Show me one and I will believe it. Until you do, I think he is the best. If you need any work doing I recommend you to contact Geoff first.

I can still scarcely believe the deal he got me on my 12' table.

I never did find out why there were 16 reds though.

I have just looked at Geoff's site. It is worth logging on just to see the Orme honey oak table amongst the "for sale" section. A truly wonderful looking table in wonderful condition.

Geoff, I notice you haven't put a price on it yet. How much will it be? Do you know yet? (No, I haven't got space for a second table).

I think the Oak orme table will sell for around the £750 price. see link http://gclbilliards.com/oak-orme-son...ry-nice-table/
I have been away a week working in Butlins Skegness , a job I have been doing a for a few years now every November , and the past two years for myself as GCL Billiards..
During my work there I received a phone Call from the seller of the oak orme , he has been away on holiday for a month and we talked about price , I held back on price as I think the table is worth around the £1500 price range and was waiting to see what people offered for it , but with full size tables not selling well , we have agreed a price of £750 to be very fair and for a solid Oak table it will not be around long before someone snaps it up .
Even if it is to just store it until they have a room ready !
There are plenty of tables around but is there one up for sale in this condition in Oak at this Bargain price ?
it was renovated a few years back so it is ready to go , just dismantle deliver and set up is all it is going to cost extra , and GCL Billiards will quote for this .

That would be an amazing buy for somebody. It looks wonderful. Does anything else come with it? Maybe 16 reds. (An in joke).

Hi Geoff great site and good luck. When I bought my old Burroughs and Watts you where right there to help me like I lived just down the street mean while I am here in Canada. By the way the Broad Bow pocket leathers fit like a glove thanks to your help with stitching directions. You need a testimonial section so the TSF guys that you have helped can all add to it. Thanks
