They did have the temp display (as you describe) for some years with the ceramic system, and also the ceramic covered the entire under slate area as well did it not.
Mat system -any details, any website?

ceramic - I thought they were full width of the table (or as much as below the table allows) and from seeing a picture they definitely did not look like "strips" but nevermind.
So this Hotwire mats from the link looks good, light weight where I would imagine the ceramics are heavy. And you say the hotwire will be used at the WSC?
On the link it is funny that they start by saying "For the past twenty years, under table heating..." this is incorrect as I am sure Geoff Large (IIRC) showed a photo of an old table he was recovering, etc., which had old oil pipes under it and was dated back to the early 1900s (IIRC).
        cheers

haha, "trott or even trotts", no probs, buddy.

The new mat system sounds good. My room too has underfloor heating so that in its self projects heat upwards around the slates as well..Thanks..

My dog uses faecesbook and peemail.

Glad this thread has picked up so much momentum.

With my place in Bulgaria the trouble is that we get almost 40 in the summer but maybe -10 or -15 in the winter! At the winter temperatures some heating directly under the slates is needed. A log fire might look wonderful. In fact it does and very Christmassy etc. but it doesn't make much difference to the temperature of the slates!

I just purchased cable heating from a company called Nuheat. They make heating mats for under ceramic tile and now have basically the same thing in 1/8" cable. I bought enough to do 70 sq. ft which gives me 264 lft. 10 runs 2" apart under each slate complete with Thermostat on wall with sensor probe. I was going to install it today but now I have second thoughts with the talk of the table going out of level. Mid 1920 Burroughs n Watts Strachan 6911 30oz Tournament with steel block rails. What are your thoughts on the level issue? and how much quicker it will play? The link for the cable is http:/www.nuheat.com
