    Hi Leo

I have to disagree , I get enquiries asking for square legged oak table all the time .

I give advice if I see a home that would suit a square legged oak table I am never afraid to push the owner to have one , putting a Mahogany turned leg table into a house or Barn with oak fittings is like putting a round peg in a square hole .
And if you looked at the two links of the square legged riley Viceroy and Imperial , both these clients asked for Square legged Tables after I gave them the advice on what would suit their Homes and rooms .
and they where delighted with the outcome .
Most modern homes are now being built with oak fittings like doors cupboards and skirting .
And with most square legged table being lower cost option than turned legs , they can also pick more of a Bargain up .
Take a look at this room do you think this Mahogany table fit's in well with the rooms decor http://gclbilliards.com/wp-content/u...-top-plate.jpg

So at the end of the day some people will opt for a square legged table if it suits their home better , after all a square legged version of a riley has the same playing surface design in slate and cushions as a turned legged table their is no difference to how the table plays , why would someone overlook what would fit into their decor , they still have an option of finding a turned legged oak table if they really wanted some fancy design rather than go Contemporary . like this http://nottinghamsnooker.com/gcl2/wp...2-recover1.jpg

Even professionals have had square legged tables to practice on in the past at their home , look at this Ex Anthony hamiltons table he was playing on from an early age to his early 20s , ok he has moved onto a riley aristocrat at a later house move , but he honed his skill on this table to make the top 16 in his day , it did not bother him that it had square legs http://gclbilliards.com/re-rubber-re...snooker-table/

You won't ever convince me Geoff that square leg snooker tables look good wether they suit a room or not, and would hazard a guess Les would agree that his snooker room would look 10 times better if his table had turned legs.

I just want a 12 foot table (with a bar) . . . is that too much to ask???
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
            I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

I don't think so. I love my setup. I said to my wife last night while I was watching the BMW Golf over my bar while I practiced snooker. Life could not be any better.

Les I really used to like you until this statement, now I have this massive jealous feeling welling up , living the dream fella ,living the dream.
I'm not as fervent about the tables as Leo, lol, and I admit I have no taste as I love old brown furniture even though you can hardly give it away nowadays, I don't like the light colour of the oak tables, although the legs are just what I prefer it wouldn't be a necessity in a table for me.

LOL I understand. That's why every time I go down to my snooker room I take a good luck at what I have and now just enjoy myself because there are many that would die for what I have.

In the highly improbable event that I had to replace my table, I would get another square legged one.
