    Hi guys can you help?
looking to renew my table cloth in the next few weeks, having read a few threads on here i am thinking it will be either a Strachan 6811 tournament or i like the sound of the hainsworth percision that Terry has on his table.
Deanh what did you go for on your table?
I can find prices for strachan cloths on ebay and abcsnooker but nowhere can i find prices for a hainsworth percicsion cloth.
Can anybody give me an idea of the price of the percision as this sounds like what i would go for after reading Terrys comments on them, but i need to know if this is affordable to me or not.

    Cheers Ricky

    £440.00 for the precision.

Redphex, thanks for that, from the info on this forum it looks like it would be worth spending the extra on this cloth. Playability and durability sounds a lot better on the precision than the strachan.

Now where did you get the idea that I had a table !?!
I so wish I did and I have the green light from the missus to get a potting shed in the garden
Now time to save those coppers in the optic whisky bottle
As to cloth, I have thougths for my "future" table and I ahve been leaning towards Hainsworth but may be the cloth "down one" from Precision, Match. TD has reviewed his Precision and he does rate it but he has started to see wear around the spots (after about 9 or so months IIRC, not a quickly as he did with Strachan No10.
So I am hoping that Match would give more longevity. It does depend on the amount of table time you use the table I suppose.
Hopefully TD will be on and give us an update
How long have you had your table and what make/model? Who long has the current cloth been on? Or is this the new build?
        Any pictures?

Hi Dean, I had been reading an old post where you and TD were discussing clothes and I thought you had a table. The table we got was an Endild which we have stripped down in pieces at the moment. The cloth that was on it looked to have been a good quality one in the past but was pitted all over the place. We are looking to get this back together with a quality cloth and a set of 1G balls. My mate and I have played on and of for 20 years and even played in local leagues before. I played a lot when I was younger and hit the occasional 50 break but a bit rusty now. Would like to get back to that standard but the trouble now is my eye sight is not so good as it used to be. I even think I cue better now than I did when I was younger but the eyes are an issue.

Where do you play your snooker Dean? Thanks for replying, hope you get your own table one day.

          Cheers Ricky

I play mostly at a local Social Club which has three table, which have recently all been refurbed (1 table recovered, the other two restretched - one table gets recovered every year the others checked, new nets/leathers and ball rails - that sort of thing).

As for the Hainsworth Precision. I am totally happy with the cloth. It's coming up on a year in May and I play at least 4hrs every day when I am home, which is most of the time. After a year there are some slight wear marks around the black and pink spots but this cloth is advertised by Hainsworth as not needing ironing and I believe this just might be true.

Over the past year (being lazy) I have brushed the table perhaps once per week or less and when I brush I will normally block the table too. I might have ironed the cloth 3 or 4 times in the past year but it didn't really need it as I have a dehumidifier running all the time and my basement snooker room has low humidity (always below 40%).

The speed of the cloth has remained and it has held up better than the #10 I previously had on my table. I would say the Precision is comparable to a NEW #10 like the pros use on TV but this cloth has retained its speed whereas the #10 did slow down a bit and had to be ironed once or twice a week after a few months plus the #10 showed a lot more wear and I had to replace it in less than 2 years.

For sure I will be getting Precision cloth again for my table although I have to admit I was thinking on trying the Match next time.

Dean at least you are getting a game on tables that are looked after, and a bit of socialising to go with it.

Terry thank for the info. Like the sound if the cloth you are using, it wares well with not to much work to keep it fast. Was thinking about the match also but I recon I will get my mate to go for the precision, sounds a great cloth. Do you mind me asking Where do you purchase your cloths from?

                Cheers guys great info.

                  Ricky2112:

I managed to purchase this cloth directly from Hainsworth using a credit card and also they agreed to use the wholesale value for custom duty purposes.

Hainsworth do not normally sell to the retail market but at that time there was no retail distributor in Canada. It now appears we have one in Ottawa but I haven't checked their price as yet. I believe I paid around 400GBP + shipping and some duty.

Thanks Terry, just out curiosity how big is the game of snooker in Canada? Snooker where I live in Scotland has deminished a great deal over the last ten years. We had a couple of cracking clubs local that between them had about 50 tables. One of them used to have regular exhibition matches and I have met loads of pros through the years. Also witnessed 5 147's in the matches. Sadly the oner of these club turned them into 9 ball pool halls and we only have 14 tables left. Luckily due to my mate getting a work premisis with a spare room big enough for our own table we will soon be enjoying the game again on a quality cloth a great set of balls.

                    Cheers Ricky
