Good Day, I am in Canada and Cloth here for Hainsworth Smart or better is very expensive, will cost me 750. Cdn dollars to replace my cloth. Does anyone in UK know where I can purchase Tournament used but still good cloth? I would imagine that the bulk line and dots can be removed and refitted, am I right or is it a nightmare to reinstall? Any suggestions or comments are welcome, Thank You, Cheers

I bought a 'nearly new' #10 off eBay.co.uk and had Pat MeCarthy fit it and it worked out well. You get 6811 for the cushions and the cloth went on well and the markings were quite faded and I was able to rub them almost out with a damp cloth and then iron the dampness out.
They're not always available though. I also ordered Hainsworth Precision directly from Hainsworth and got it cheaper than what that guy in Ottawa is advertising for the Precision, around $800 with taxes. I think I got it here for around $600 with duty and taxes but I had Hainsworth list the value at wholesale for custom duty purposes.
I need a new cloth for my table and was considering Precision, Smart or 6811 so if you find a bit of a deal somewhere let me know and we can double up the order and maybe save on shipping costs. I know Pat can supply the 6811 at a reasonable cost, somewhere around $400 but getting the Hainsworth here in Canada is expensive.

Thanks Terry, will keep an eye on here to see what else is suggested or available, I dont like the 6811 but might have to opt for it at 400 dollars, I would like to get either the smart or precision. What do they use at most tournaments in UK.? I would deffinately like to share the transport costs. CheersI try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:

The pro tournaments use #10 but remember what you see is always new cloth as they frequently change the cloths during tournaments, 3 or 4 times for the World Champs. I found the #10 wore out very fast and also slowed down unless I ironed it every day.
The IBSF uses 6811 for their championship tournaments and I found with my dehumidifier and ironing it frequently it kept its speed and lasted longer than the #10.
I have had Precision on my table now for about 18 months or a little longer and it is now showing some wear and pits on the spots. It also lasted better than the #10, about the same as the 6811 but the big advantage is the speed is REALLY fast. No ironing required if your room is fairly dry, maybe iron once a week in a higher humidity environment.
As for costs, the 6811 gold is the cheapest (there are 2 other types which are even cheaper but I forget what they're called but once installed you wouldn't be able to tell the difference), #10 is next and Precision is the most expensive. I've never tried the Match but would be willing to give it a go if I can get it at a reasonable cost. Then I have to add in the cost of getting Pat up here to re-cloth the table.
There are some Chinese cloths I've seen advertised which are very cheap (of course) but they are also supposed to have a higher nylon content and wear longer than a pure wool cloth but I don't know what they're like to play on and what type of nap they would have. I can't remember where I saw them, maybe the Wiraka website?

Now one thing I can say the 6811 on my last table is nothing like the 6811 on my table I have now. The cloth on my new table is much faster and the nap is thinner. I spoke to a Strachan Rep when I had my last table in regards to how heavy the nap was and he said it is material and sometimes when it is made it can come off the machine a touch heavier or a touch thinner but we are talking a hair thinner or thicker. I really notice it when I have guys over to play that don't understand the nap and they drop their bridge hand on the table by the black and slide it up to the blue and leave this big hand print. Now the hand prints are much easier to block back out." Practice to improve not just to waste time "

As I am in the market for a new cloth for my table I am going to update this string. I'm looking for a decent price on Hainsworth Precision or Match, WOE 6811 or #10.
Perhaps Geoff Large or some of the table fitters can get me a decent price. This would likely be the purchase of minimum 2 cloths and if the deal is good I might purchase 4 of them and keep some stock here.

Thanks Terry, I am going to go along and get the Match cloth. Terry did a bit of digging and found a jem of a deal. I think you are right Les, I have never played on a 6811 that was brushed, blocked and ironed (taken care of) before. I have played on Smart for last 5 years, its still very playable but pitts are evident all over, post by Geoff Large made me decide to purchase and be ready to change, he stated is reasons for Kicks.
Thanks allI try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:
