3/4 snooker table

Would a 3/4 snooker table help my game or make it worse? Interested to know everyone's thoughts. Cheers

I am not quite sure what you mean.

Any practice will help improve your game. So practice on a 3/4 rather than not practicing at all will help your game. If you mean practicing on a 3/4 when you could be on a full size table I would say always use the 12'.

Do not be tempted to try and fit a 12ft in a small room , many have tried because people have said playing on a 9ft is not good for your game when in fact any practice is , and that includes playing on 6ft or 7ft tables .
I fitted a full size table the other day into a shed at the top of a garden it had 4 foot down each side , so any paractice of shots with balls up against the cushions is not good on tables with not enough cue room .

ok you do not have the distance to gauge or the rebound values of a full size , but you get the ball control the side shot the serve shot the screw back , and if that 9ft has full size balls and pockets then you are basically getting the same form of practice as a full size apart from the distance shots and the longer angles of ball travel .

To be honest though wether the fella has got 4ft of room either side of the table he would still be able to shoot a line up which in turn would be a lot better practice doing it on 12ft then it would a 3/4

geoffs got it right, you need to have comfortable access to the whole table and as long as your into the game, understand the angles with break building while developing your technique, it would be easy to transfer with time and practice onto the big table

In truth I currently only play pool but with having a pool club ten minutes away and a table at work I really fancied getting into the game. Especially with the challenge thread on going.
I'm having the door in filled this week I'll start a separate thread to share the process with you guys.

Also a 12' is likely to be cheaper than a 10' believe it or not.

That's more than enough

22' x 16' minimum, obviously the more the better, esp when lining up shots before walking in, you don't want to be squashed up against a wall!! But looks like you have enough, go for it!
