Steel vs standard cushions

I have the option of playing on both and find that steel block cushions are more consistent and therefore more predictable. You can get used to any pace off the cushion, it's the variations that kill you.

Yep, end of break. And if it happens a lot, it's infuriating, I mean cue javelin infuriating.

If the wood of the table is really dense I don't think they make that much difference. Mine is Cuban mahogany and I can't tell any difference. On some of the sapele type tables they would help.

You can always upgrade if you feel the need. It's no big deal.
