Buying a table: water stains

Hey guys,

If I'm buying a table, how concerned should I be about water stains beyond the aesthetics?

My main concern is regarding the slate. My plan is to buy a cheap secondhand table now and get it recovered in the future - so I'm more concerned about the slate than anything.

That said, how much do those stained areas affect general play?

I believe that one was caused by a drip, rather than a spill.
