Pool table okay in the cold?

Hey guys,

Just a quick question - I'm looking to buy a pool table for Christmas just to play with mates, but the only place one will fit is my garage.

It won't be a very expensive table, and so the bed isn't made of slate - it's made of wood.

Thing is, in my garage in the winter (like now!) it gets VERY cold on an evening/night, (down to probably 4 degrees celcius). If I had a pool table in here would it be okay?

My Dad said he thought the wood might warp in the cold and then warmth in summer etc, and of course I don't want to play on a warped, bent surface.

So what do you think? Would this happen? Do any of you guys play on a wood bed table in very cold outdoor conditions?

Buy an ex pub slate bedded table, theres loads on ebay and you'd be suprised how cheap they are.

I know for a fact if i had the room for one i'd have one right now!

replace wife with girlfriend and replace a nipper with two nippers and you've got my life right there.

I so need a spare "pool" room!............. and a mini bar, dart board, poker table, 64 inch widescreen, sky sports, playstation, xbox, Wii,................. somebody slap me, i need to wake up and get back to work!

thats the point i am not !! - would have to buy her out and now house prices are so crazy i would end up living in a box under a bridge and up here that would be less than perfect!
