  • Snooker on a (very) small table - practical?

In my first post here, I talked about my plan to buy a full set of snooker balls off of Amazon.com at some point...anyway, after work on Friday afternoon, I hit up the local sporting goods store and saw something like this on sale for $329...compared to a full sized table of any sort, this would fit my suburban apartment nicely.

The table as noted is about 7 feet long by 3 and 3/4ths feet wide (full sized snooker tables are generally 12 by 6, so this is essentially half sized or so), and uses full-sized pockets - it looks good for 9-ball, but that's 13 fewer balls than on a fully racked snooker setup.

Amazingly, there are actually some shorter snooker tables for home use out there:

Not sure if the balls and pockets on those are full-sized though.

Yeah, I figured that was the case...in terms of a quick solution for an apartment, not so bad, but it'd probably be nothing like the real game in feel.

In terms of finding true snooker tables out here...I don't know if that's possible in this region, but I'll have to look.

A friend of mine has a table which is a bit smaller than full-size. After years of practising on it, he has got a bigger place and is now looking to move up in size.

Here is a pic - if you're interested, let me know.
