  • Help me install my new cushion rubbers....(pics warning)

I got some new rubbers for my table and would like to install in my own...
Could someone who knows give me some instructions?
My main problem is that i don't know what glue to use...
Is it glue or some tape cause it seems like tape in the old rubber?

Here is the old cushion rubber...

    The new...

    And the cushion...

Is there something else that could go wrong?

    Thanks.!

You need neoprene adhesive, to stick th cushions properly. Anything else shall not give a strong enough grip.

It would be better to get a qualified professional snooker table fitter to put your new cushions on. Do you have a qualified fitter in your area?

If it is a qualified person that fits them of course you will have perfect cushions and it isn't the easist job in the world to do.

Where did you buy the cushions from?

Unfortunately i live in Greece and here there are very few snooker tables and there is no knowledge on how to fit snooker tables....

It doesn't seem so difficult to stick the rubber to the wood....

The matter is that i don't trust greek pool fitters as they don't care for the table to play well....
The one that firstly installed my table just screwed the cushions without caring about the pockets and their size and every pocket had different size....
I had to fix it in my own so thats why i think i can do it better....

At last i can't see what could go wrong. There is just one place for the rubber to go...

Remove any old glue with cellulose thinners. Be careful you don`t get this on the polished part of the cushion, it will strip the polish also. If you cannot source a large tin of neoprene adhesive (500ml or larger) I would suggest going to a wetsuit supplier, such as a watersports rental shop. They shall have tubes of neoprene adhesive for repairing wet suits.

When fitting the rubbers, remove the rubber support strip so that you can ensure the rubber sits flush with the top of the cushion block. Make a copy of the existing pocket cut. When trimming the rubbers to shape you will need sharp knife, water and a rough file to shape the rubber.

I sell tables. So we re-rubber tables all the time.
