New rubbers

My local club has reclothed their tables and has put new Northern rubbers on the cushion. First observations are that the cushions are not overly springy. Is this normal for new rubbers, with a bedding in period required? Cloths are playing reasonably well so at the moment the cloths feel 'quicker' than the cushions.

Yes. They need to be played in.
