I have just returned from Cuedo's pro-am and found out that every Monday 11am there having a £10 flyer usual main tour and pios give start

Pro-am on Tuesday 30/6/09/ at Cue gardens Bradford.
Entry fee is £10
Starting time 11.00am.
Main tour players give 18 points start
Pios players give 10 points start
Best of five frames
plate comp.
All pennys collected will be paid out.
Sign up no later than 10.30am.

I traveled 45 mins to Barnsley where i arrived at 10:30am only to find out that they did the draw and started this comp at 10:15
Nothing on the tournament sheet said anything about 10:15 start and after been told by the organizers themselves last night mouth to mouth to get there between 10-11 im disgusted it had already started
I apologize if anyone read my post and did what i did and got turned away, grrrrrrrr

I'm very disappointed in the interest with pro-am's and players these days, I remember the times when 50 or so would go and play at willy's or at joe's at Morley or Preston and even Paul hunters practice joint the manor to name a few and the only club that keeps pro-am's alive with a good amount of players these days is Leeds northern snooker club.

Where is all the interest these days surly there must be some events local to you if so please share the info i'm sure there is players on here that would love to attend, or am i too late

I played in the one at Leeds on Wednesday, 29 turned out and a fairly good standard too; Kuldesh Johal, Jamie Barrett to name just a couple.

I've no idea who won as i got knocked out in the the 1st round of the main event and the plate!!!!

Yep i was there too, got pumped in 2nd round by a inform pete fisher making breaks of 109 and 79 lol but final was between pro Craig Steadman and ex pro Stephen Craigie so i was told.
There is one next wed but i wont be at that one due to work.

I'm away next week myself otherwise i'd be paying another £10 for a lesson in snooker!!!

I'll keep you posted re the pro-am in Grimsby soon. There's been some good interest so far it's just a question of deciding on the venue.

Ray Edmonds have offered their place to us on a sunday and i would think Cue world would do the same.

Ray Edmonds has a lot more tables but is a bit dated now and most of the tables are in serious need of re-clothing.

Cue world has 10 main tables plus 3 match tables to play on and a cracking bar / cafe with TV link to the main match table so you can watch it from the bar.

The only problem with Cue world is the lack of tables if lots of people turn up to play but they are a lot better than Ray Edmonds.

He has never approached ray edmonds about a comp and is making it all up.
So my advice to all would be take anything he posts with a large dose of salt.

So did Dave Gunn not approach you a couple of months back saying there is a newly qualified EASB ref in the town and he's interested in running a regular pro-am?

Assuming you're not Alan Edmonds, have a word with him and I think you'll find Dave Gunn has spoken to him. Alan's reply was that Sundays would be a good Idea and he would be more than happy to hold them in the club.

I know this because I am the bloke who'd trying to organise them.

Well the venue is decided then.............. Cueworld it is.

That's the bloody problem with Grimsby, too many folk who think they know everything about anything, sticking their bloody noses in without knowing the full facts.
