Quite right, but I didn't want to upset anybody. But now edited!

Our billiards league is more or less run separately from the snooker side of things by those that take part though I reckon there are only about five or six teams (made up of pairs) left in it now from memory (I have only ever played once in it to make the numbers up).

We do have a knockout up our own club with a trophy to play for but usually only get four or five entries so even if winning it you only really get to play a couple of games a season.

You'd have to worry about the future of billiards even more so than snooker as hard to see the next generation taking to it with so little stimulation to get involved (generally don't see many players playing it anywhere nowadays apart from perhaps the odd traditional type of club).

EASB will be running an Under 19s billiards tournament next season, so let's hope that engenders some interest in the game from the younger members. Also some basic billiards will be included in the new EASB coaching scheme, so hopefully a lot more juniors will be exposed to the three-ball game.

            Hi Souwester - a suggestion.
Rather than bury that information here - create a separate post.

Once the EASB have announced their full tournament details, with venues, I'm sure there will be a lot more info and separate topics here on TSF.

Yes, as a huge billiards fan myself (I prefer it to snooker) I am concerned about the future of billiards.

Our billiards league is run separately from snooker after two billiards leagues run alongside two different snooker leagues in the Plymouth area merged to form one independent billiards league.

I do hope one of those billiards events is near Plymouth!
