Regarding the seeding/qualifying for the main tour I to was under the impression that if you qualify through more than 1 route then seeding will be based on the highest seeded qualification route as explained in the world snooker rules. So if Alfie was to finish top 8 on the pios then he would be seeded. I'm almost certain that when Kurt Maflin won the World Amateur and finished top 8 on pios he was seeded.
