Ricky Walden went on to win The Niners Pro-am in Germany last week, here is a little report form Stuart Bingham who lost 3-1 to Matt Couch in the Quarter Finals.
It was the hottest weekend for about 10 years and playing in a club at the top of a 3 story building didn't help matters.
Lucky for everyone, (the pros I mean) we all was wearing shorts when we arrived. So the dress code was relaxed and we all played in shorts over the weekend.
Lucky for Ricky Walden because his luggage was lost! lol. So everyone was lending him shirts and clean underwear! lol. But he got his luggage on the last day!
Right, for the tournament!
It went well, there were a couple of decent amateurs in the field. Maurice Le Duc, Chris McBreen and a couple of good juniors. Alexis Callewaert is one and looks to have a bright future.
There was no shocks till the semis but Matt Couch nearly went out to Maurice ? in the quarters, 2-0 down and came back well to win 3-2. Chris McBreen had a century but lost 3-1 to me! I finished off with a ton as well. :-)
The shock of the tournament was Matt beating me in the semis 3-1. He had a ton and played pretty well. The other semis looked like it was going to be an easy win for Ian McCulloch going 2-0 up and in the balls but a lose positional shot gave Ricky hope. From then on it was all Ricky and came back to win 3-2.
The final started well for Matt making a 70 odd to win the first but then Ricky came strong and took the next 3 to claim victorious.
We all lost about a stone as everyone was sweating buckets because of the heat, but the tournament was run superbly and the german fans was great as normal.
It was nice being in a country who could celebrate a football win and after the Argentina game we all went into town and it was a fantastic atmosphere.

I will be posting up a small Q&A form Ricky once he gets back to me hopefully today or tomorrow.
