  • English Regional Junior Tour

The EASB's popular Regional Junior Tour has been restructured into four zones for the 2010-11 season: North, Midlands, South East and South West.

The tour has been increased to six events, but is restricted to those Under 18 at 31 December 2010 (in anticipation of the lower age limit for the 2011-12 Premier Junior Tour), and will be played at a number of new venues in each region.

Format is groups of generally 5 or 6 players which will be played on a Round Robin basis with three frames per match. Eight or Sixteen players will qualify from the group stages into the knockout stages, where games will be played over the best of three frames through to a conclusion (subject to total number of entries). Knockout rounds will be seeded based upon final group positions. At the end of the season, players ranked 1 and 2 in each region will be eligible to compete on the 2011/12 Premier Junior Tour, whilst additional players from each region will be invited to enter the Junior Play-Offs, depending how many spaces are available.

The first events are on Sunday 3rd October at Hartlepool, Lincoln, Woking and Salisbury. Closing date for entries is next Monday 30th August, although as this is a bank holiday I suspect there will be a day or two's grace.

Membership and entry forms can be downloaded for postal submission from the EASB website at http://www.englishsnooker.com or online at http://easbshop.wytech.co.uk/

Apart from the Paul Hunter English Open, which charges a premium to non-members, membership of EASB is required for all other competitions. Junior Membership for Under 19s is only £15.

Yes, but the closing date for RJT1 (on 3 October) is officially today, although being bank holiday I guess there will be a day or two delay.

As long as the online shop allows you to enter, though, these entries will still be valid. Entry is only disabled at the last moment before the draws are done. However, once the deadline passes, you're taking your chances as to when it might be taken down, so get that entry in quick!

Regional Junior Tour dress code does NOT require a waistcoat: a plain polo shirt will suffice.

I would imagine 10:30 registration deadline, if last event is anything to go by.
