Yes i check daily the leeds website to see if its been cancelled so for now i presume its a go, really i could do with it confirming weather permitting of course and i am sure most players would be in the same boat.
With a family and a job its important to know these things i am sure everyone who enters agree's, i do understand sometimes issues cannot be helped but after last years short notice on this very same event i am wondering if its like this always for the seniors.
    Again thanks

Masterbreak147, I know what you mean, I have children, 4 in all, the eldest 21, a business, a marriage, lots going on and I could do with knowing whats happening.

It does all seem geared for the juniors but thats to be expected, they are the future, I am not. Sorry if it sounds a bit defeatest!

Well i better see some of these wipper snappers on the box in the coming years especially Oliver lines and Sean O'Sullivan two of what stand out to what i have seen.
Think me and you are in the same boat here four kids all girls eldest 21 and youngest 13 not to mention my granddaughter living here too lol, we not getting any younger you know and these events keeps me rocking.
It does sound like i am moaning for that i am sorry for the people who keep these events alive, but after last years similar situation its getting frustrating i just don't want to let my customers down like i had to last year.
I suppose this is life for ya eh!

It probably seems that way because there ARE more tournaments for the juniors, but they have been subject to the same late notifications etc!

The southern section of senior championship should be on next weekend, just woke up and can see only minor evidence of any snow/ice.

Its now the 8th Dec and still no news of the draw. The venue owner has received nothing - No indication of how many tables are required, how many players to expect, how many refs are arriving. I know the EASB is a voluntary participation thing, but come on, we've all paid our money, and the venue has given over tables, the least we should expect is being told SOMETHING.
I often use large words I don't really understand in an attempt to appear more photosynthesis.

Magicman, I think the draws are done on the day. I wasn't aware that club owner has not been told. That is a shame, I think an email to EASB is needed, will do one now!

By the way, do you still do the levitation trick ?

This as posted on the EASB website earlier this afternoon:

EVENTS TAKING PLACE ON SATURDAY/SUNDAY 11th-12th DECEMBER
Contrary to rumours circulating on social networking sites, the English Under 19s, English Seniors, Regional Amateur Tour, and Junior Billiards Events are all scheduled to take place this weekend. However, the reason for the delay in releasing information is quite simply down to the fact that the weather last week left our usual volunteers stranded, unable to get into the office, and without internet access. Information for all four events will be posted on the website on THURSDAY with emails being sent out to all those whom we have email addresses for. We are also about to announce the revised dates for the recently cancelled events, and please check the calendar for more information shortly.

                        Gentlemen,

There is news on the EASB website. When you digest it, it is reading as if the SE region qualifier is still on this weekend with the West/East Midlands and part of the Eastern regions postponed til later. The SE region is at Fareham and not Castle Club in Brighton with draws being issued later today.

Thats a shame because Castle Club is probably one of the top 3 club venues in the country. I know its a bold statement but when you go there you'll see why.

I've yet to visit the Castle club, but I've heard very mixed reviews about it. For the time being I retain an open mind.
