Are all these going to the q school in May if they dont get their pro ticket from this? just curious, cheers.
The English Amateur is a totally standalone tournament this year, so there's no route to the Main Tour from this event. For the last few years the EA has carried double ranking points, added to the Pro Ticket Tour points to determine places, but since World Snooker reduced the guaranteed place to England from 2 to 1 this season, that place goes to the winner of Pro Ticket Tour.

Cheers,so my guess is most of these are going into the q school too?
I would expect many of the Pro Ticket players to want to play in Q-School, and there were certainly plenty of additional players who played in these qualifying events in the English Amateur (200). However, I suspect that many won't be able to afford the £1000 entry fee, with no returns in the way of prize money, the only reward being 12 MT places for the lucky 12.
However, EASB is running it's own Q-School satellite events, the first stage of which has already taken place, whereby it will fund the World Snooker £1000 entry fee to Q-School for the winners of its stage 3 event. One place will be up for grabs for every £2500 of entry fees paid to EASB, with some small prize money payable to the last round losers at each stage. With the EASB events, which cost £40 a throw for stage 2 and £100 a go for stage 3, players can enter up to 3 times, to give themselves a better chance of qualifying through to World Snooker's event. That could certainly be a cheaper way of getting in on Q-School, and if any of the stage 1 winners do it, they will have done it for just a tenner! Bargain!
Great to see Mark Leonard qualified after hammering me in the second round, he was in very good form and literally did not leave me a thing to go at!!
the one opportunity i got to make a decent break i rolled a red in for 1, the white kicked an inch off the table and stopped dead! tried to cut the black in anyway left it in the jaws and mark dished out a nice clearance in the final frame!
nice....
haha
what a frustrating, yet addictive game this is....
oh i certainly will be back next year...Mark Leonard is a completely different calibre of player to me and in all hoenstly i wasnt focusing on a win, but was just trying to steal a frame...unfortunately i couldnt do that! i kept the third frame close (ish) but he kept grinding and didnt leave me anything the entire frame! safety play was brilliant...i have to say i was fairly happy with my safety overall...his safety was good and sometimes i couldnt resist taking a pot on and when i did, and missed he cleared the table...lol
Mark plays in the same league as me but in two divisions above me... but like i say, ill be back next year, ive only actually been playing a year now i bought my cue a week before last years amateurs haha next year im going to qualify! haha third time lucky
