    English Seniors Championship

Hi it's Rob Spencer, Phil freeman knocked me out. Unfortunately 2 didn't show from my group so we finished earlier and I waited over 3 hours to play the next match. Very frustrating!

Anyone know who qualified out of any of the regions?

I know Simon Dent and Paul Norris got through from the South East/West. Kev Firth from zone A (North). Who else?

Some sort of 'has-been' or more accurately 'never was' I think Simon.

I know that Bash Maqsood has qualified (so he tells me) and fellow Notts players Barry Stark & Steve Judd were playing each other in the KO stages when he left and they were 1-1.

Kev - you are now from Bradford!

I assume the last 16 of the championships this weekend is now a straight forward knock out and not group stages?

I was chatting with a fellow player the other day and we agreed that perhaps in future it would be good to get to a single player down from each southern and northern region and have the two finalists at the main EASB finals day.

Its a long way to go when you lose a single match with no group stages.

Leeds for us southerners is quite a way up. Conversely, I wonder how some players would mind coming down to Brighton or Portsmouth to play the last 16? Instead, treat it like the English Amateurs, Maybe that can be considered for next year?
