sorry meant to say that these comps are handicapped. the saturday comp is £10.00 to enter and loser has to pay for the table, usually get about 20 runners, sunday evening one is £6.00 to enter, usually about 20 runners as well. I think you have to become a member as well.

                      Jay,

Newark Cue Club have monthly handicap tournaments. Very nice club, nice tables. You can find them on facebook.

If you don't mind travelling a little further we have a few every month in Nottingham, at Pegasus (Arnold) where Michael Holt is resident pro and at BCI in Bulwell.

                      Regards,

                        Midlands handicap competitions

Willie Thornes in Leicester has a bi-monthly handicap competition on Sundays. The next one is the 27th Feb. £10 to enter and you get a minimum 3 matches as there is a plate comp for 1st and 2nd round losers in the main. Usually between 20 and 40 entries. Prize money for winners of both comps plus for semi and quarters in the main I believe.

The first Sunday of every month is a handicap comp at Barratts Snooker club in Northampton also. Entries are usually around 20. Guarantee three matches again on a round robin basis. No plate comp though. Pretty good standard as there are quite a few scratch players there. I've made two finals with handicaps of 49 and 35 (I get 28 at Willies which is about right, so quite happy with that !). Won one lost the other so I'm sure anyone can win it.

                        Cheers

                          Hi Jay

There is a really good one at Grantham. Standard is good. 10 quid off scratch best of 5 till semi and a plate comp if you lose first round normally get 16 but would be nice if more came.

Speak to Jim Gibson who runs Rileys Cueball in Derby as they have regular tournaments:

Also, send an email to Aaron Gaskell who is the manager at Rileys, Babington Lane, as they also have a comp every month:
