  • Pink Ribbon returns for 2011!

On 17 June 2010, the South West Snooker Academy opened with the inaugural Pink Ribbon Tournament. With over 40 professionals competing in a field of 128 players, the event was very well received and a substantial amount of money was raised for breast cancer charities. The event was won by Michael Holt, who impressed throughout the tournament, beating Jimmy White in the final 6-5.

On Q Promotions are delighted to announce the return of the Pink Ribbon at the South West Snooker Academy between 2-5 June 2011.

Following on from last years success, the tournament will once again be open to both professional and amateur players of all ages and will have a guaranteed prize fund of £10,000 thanks to our sponsors, MIUS Ltd.

There will be qualifiers taking place at several selected clubs across the UK as well as at the South West Snooker Academy and the entry fee will be £25. We will be releasing more details on which clubs will be holding qualifiers and how to enter in the coming weeks.

As soon as we have more information for you, I will ensure it is posted here.

Until then, you can visit our website which will have all of the information you will need as well as an archive of last years event.

We hope to see many of you who competed last year return to the Academy as well as lots of new faces.

We are currently finalising the details of the event so all of the information we currently have is on our website.

    Regards

    Sarah

You were my first enquiry form to come back in Luke. Well done.

I'm excited already. It was just a fabulous event last summer and I think we're going to have a bumper entry again this year.

The dates fall just before the first PTC so apart from being a great event it's an ideal opportunity for pros and amateurs alike to tune up ready for the PTC.

I wonder if we can surpass the excitement and quality of last year's final.

Yes, but part of the adrenaline rush of last year's event was wondering if the venue was going to open in time!

the most surprising thing after how well he did play in the Pink Ribbon last year how poor a season Holt had overall.

he was on Fire last year.

Oh Souwester! Don't remind me! At least we won't have that worry this year. I hope you'll be able to make it down this year.

The qualifier at the South West Snooker Academy will be on 2 June. We are in the process of arranging with clubs dates for their qualifiers so once we have things confirmed I will post the details here for everyone.

They will need to be in advance of June as players who have qualified will need to be included in the draw etc. I will post more details on here once we have them though

Pink Ribbon entries are piling in. that's great news but we want MORE!
We want a huge entry, as all the entry money goes to the Breast Cancer Care Campaign.

JOHN HIGGINS heads the Pink Ribbon field.
John Higgins, along with fellow Scot Graeme Dott have confirmed their entry to this year's Pink Ribbon, alongside many other pros and aspiring amateurs, juniors and the wannabe giant killers!

You can enter by downloading the forms at the website, printing off and posting with a cheque etc or just ring the Academy direct (during office hours) on 01452 223214 to enter by cc/dd. Ask For Debbie or Janie.

Don't forget: all the amateurs can enter up to 4 times in the event. It's £25 per entry and each entry is drawn into a separate quarter of the draw.
So you get 4 x the amount of matches, fun etc. Real value for money for those travelling a long distance and of course 4x the chance of going through to knock out the pros. (You cannot play against yourself! - sorry!)

We're really looking forward to seeing everyone down at the Pink Ribbon again this year. Even if you're not playing yourself come along and support the event and the Charity Activities. Watch the Pros in action. Watch us blowing up 1000 Pink Ribbon balloons!
Ring Academy to book spectator tickets. Again all proceeds go to the Charity.

Any and all media contact me by email to confirm your attendance. Everyone is most welcome.

I forgot to mention there are catering facilities all day at the Academy and we will have a BAR in place by the Pink Ribbon as well.

Hopefully the weather will be good and you can chill outside in the sunshine between matches.

Good local hotels if you need accommodation include:
Holiday Inn Express (2 mins walk)
Premier Inn, Travelodge (5 mins drive)
                      Little Thatch (5 mins drive)
