Hi i was there at the Match tonight and the tables played nice Bob Chaperon played great the whole tournament against Kirk Stevens he made 13 Blacks and could not see the red near the pink spot and if he saw it he would have made a 147 perfect game .

He Deserved to win the Final score was 6 frames to two frames for Bob. Bob Chaperon won the last three tournemtns he played in one was in Sudbury Ontario the second was in Cambridge Ontario and the third one was the Alain Robidoux Invational with players like Cliff Thorburn Kirk Stevens Bob Chaperon Alain Robiudoux and also John White from Toronto Ontario.

              The Montrealer cheers Leonard

Although Bob Chaperone is undoubtedly playing well enough to do well at Q school, unfortunately he would need a sponsor with deep pockets to get over there for a couple of weeks practice and then to play in the tournaments.

My personal opinion is Bob is (and was) the most naturally gifted of any of the Canadian pros, closely followed by Kirk and Alain. His cue action is one of the smoothest I've ever seen, very close to Ronnie's.

Also, he is the only other Canadian pro besides Cliff to win a ranking tournament and he had 4 centuries in a row in a tournament years before John Higgins did it but it was in North America so it wasn't recognized.

Although I could be a little biased as Bob is a friend of mine and we used to practice together when we both lived in Britain. Don't see much of him now as we live 6 hours apart.

Hi Terry you are right I spoked to Bob Paquette who is our Jimmy White of Canada as Paquette never won the Canadian Snooker Champs losing in the finals 5 times

Bob Paquette told me that Bob Chaperon hits the cue Ball very soft just like he did and he has an all round game and has a very good safety game and when in the Balls he is deadly.

Its just to bad that he is getting older and if he was younger he could compete with the best of them cheers Leonard
