Simon, my name is Geoff Williams and I offered my support to the board, I received a call from Clive Brown with a promise of a return call once the next board meeting had happened but for some strange reason never had the call.

All I hear and see is players constantly moaning about late draws, late prize money and general ill feeling about the way the game is managed.

I fully appreciate that this is voluntary work, however taking that into consideration members still have the right for the administrative part of the game to be managed correctly and sadly that isn't the case.

The board and their few remaining supporters can say what they like but the simple truth is that obverall they do a poor job of running the game.

Why don't you start a poll and ask the players, parents and sponsors for their thoughts, or maybe the truth will hurt.

        Geoff

Thanks for being open and honest. Please appreciate that I am not deaf to the comments being made. From what I remember the EASB has always had management issues and I can poll all day long without surprise from the result.

Main points for me in no particular order, from what I see are:-

        1. Getting prize money to players
        2. Getting draws done quicker
        3. Organizing officials in time
        4. Organizing venues in time

On the whole management have achieved this, would you not agree?

But where it does lack then I would earnestly ask John Hartley and the board to address the problems as soon as possible.

All I am saying Geoff is that there are ways of dealing with these problems without the negativity, which tends to breed negativity.

We need a national governing body for the game. Look at the positives with what has been achieved. The website is kept updated within reason. Its a good source for info and there are so many more national tournaments for players to enter. Anyone wish to add to this?
