I might play in the handicap as it free for first time entries and I fancy a comp tomorrow. I don't understand why frames do not have a regular sunday comp.
If I hit that I I'd break him in two. I've finished with that club for good now.

The Thursday comp is a big one down at Frames ......always has been . Been running for years . Think they get a regular 25 + runners .

Think they will do one in time though .

What about the Working Man's Club Peter.......no good ?

I understand the comp has been going for years but the club is under new management and was supposed to bring in changes, midweek comps handicaps or otherwise are only suitable for local players. Toni needs to start a regular pro am comp on a Sunday or a least once a month aimed at attracting players from all over and preferably with an 11 to 11: 30 am start. This allows for better commuting to and from the club. You won't get anyone from outside the local area travelling mid week.

He knows that Peter . I will ask him when he will do the Sunday Comp . In fairness though , he arranged one a few months back and only 7 people turned up .

Hi all, just got back form Upton Park snooker club, have to say it was a very good experience and I will definitely be returning.
They give you a bad handicap to start (- 50 for me) but the first 4 entries are free including the table time, this is to allow the manager Paul time to access you and give decent handicap. I lost 2 nill giving 50 away in the first round but lost the second frame on the black. I was then allowed to buy myself back in again this was free. I lost 2 nil giving away 46 start again losing the second frame on the black.
The tables as far as I could see have all been re-clothed and the two tables I played on were very true. I do have one critisum of the club and that is the state of the balls in the main hall. They are really old all different colours with chips out of them. The white ball is really light and made control of the cue ball really hard, I did raised this with the manager and he said he was he would put me on a match table next time. It's seem strange that the club won't invest in match balls as the tables are very good. I asked one guy would it be ok to bring my own set but he said the manager won't allow it as it's unfair to some of the regulars who are used to these balls. From what I can see every one was complaining about the balls so this don't seem right to me. I'll bring my set next time and see if I'm allowed to use them.

All in all I would recommend this club to anyone looking for a game on a Sunday, very friendly staff and players.

Peter not having a go here mate but you and your Opponent had to play with the same Balls and Same Table! So not advantage to you or your opponent with the Balls.

I wouldnt think they will allow you to bring your own balls as all the tournys I have played in last 30yrs they never allow that and I agree why should somebody have better balls than another.

Not having a go in anyway peter honestly.
