Opinions please fellow snooker buffs. I play in the national PSV ( bus drivers) snooker tournament and for years, the finals week has been in Pontins. They have now refused to host the event. The secretary has tried a number of other venues without success. The secretary has been lucky enough to secure the Willie Thorne snooker centre for finals week but we are all left with the problem of hotel rooms. Does anyone have any advice please??? And finally, I believe the club is a franchise of "Riley's".......god help us.......what is the standard of the tables, bar food, beer.... Etc etc, thanks in anticipation guys, Fred

Tables are really bad. Food is not all that. Typical rileys really where they don't care about the snooker just the big screen tv and bar etc. it makes it worse that the club I play at and coach at is really good so I perhaps notice it more.coaching is not just for the pros

How many tables do you need?
Other clubs I'd suggest trying:
Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds (probably the best 'normal' club in the country, but maybe an issue if you need tables at weekends)
South West Snooker Academy at Gloucester (*THE* best venue in the country - keen to get involved with grass roots snooker)
North East Derbyshire SC at Clay Cross (near Chesterfield)
Woking SC
Jesters, Swindon (but might be a problem with food)
Frames in Coulsdon, Surrey

i would say depends where you are, but for championship table you can't beat the Star Snooker Academy in Sheffield, 10 top quality tables of the highest standard. in a temperature controlled rooms .all the top pros come to practice on them when they are down in Sheffield.
