Private Club Tournament/League

Hi I am part of a small local snooker club with around 50 to 60 members and looking to organise either a league or tournament. I was wondering what the best format for it would be as it is just a casual club so no one goes too often so was thinking of giving each round 2 to 3 weeks to be played. Also if we were to try a league, how would we work out handicap scoring etc. Any help would be brilliant as this is the first time I'm running a tournament/league for a snooker club.
