Hey folks, I'm in one of the teams that play in the edinburgh handicap snooker league, we're in the pre-season cup at the moment which lasts for the next few weeks, we had a full team up until a couple of weeks ago, match night is a Thursday where a team of 4 is needed, each selected player has a two frame match. The way the team is selected is simple, if you get a draw or a win in your game you stay on for the following week, if you lose your not, it keeps it fair that way. It's a good fun night and as i found out when i started last year playing a much bigger variety of people/skill level etc really helps build your own game. We are currently a team of 5, 6 is the ideal number though, although winning is nice, we're more bothered about having a laugh and a good game! We have a wide range of skill abilities in our team so don't go thinking you need to be able to knock in breaks every visit..... It's supposed to be a fun night after all. Get in touch with me if your interested or if you want more info. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Fraser's team, is that you ? i got your team lined up with one good player already this season in Craig Smith. I played Craig last Wednesday afternoon he was saying that he could not believe how nervous he was going into his first match but enjoyed it very much all the same. should be interesting when we play against each other when we meet in the last game of the round robin section. If anyone else turns up looking for a team i will pass your details on.
Paul in out team was going to bring in another player who used to play with pockets team, the guy can only play now and again so might not be best for you? but i will speak to him all the same and let you know.

Yeah that's right, and indeed he is on both accounts, whether or not fraser has told you some of the nonsense that's gone on in the team in the past couple of weeks I'm not sure but on craigs first day another didn't turn up so he's gone, one of the guys needs to go away now and again, sometimes for weeks on end, one lad has great difficulty getting away from work, my work can cause me huge issues getting away so having that extra person would just give us more options. Thanks for introducing craig though, not had a lot of time to get to know him yet but he seems like a really nice fella and a good player. Look forward to our game too:snooker:

For the better than scratch guys there's a few players who can knock in a ton plus. Couple of ex-pros in there.
Have a look at www.eica.co.uk and you'll see all the teams, players and individual handicaps.

I suppose i'm in the 'regular 30 odd break with the odd higher break' bracket.
Finding somewhere that plays matches on my nights off might prove difficult
They're all Edinburgh based and a Thursday, half 7 start apart from a couple of clubs where they may start early due to it being a single table venue.:snooker:
