Not meaning to get anyone's hopes up.. No pressure
Nah, no pressure . . .
As long as I keep getting better . . .
So far, so good.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins. I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)
Around here they are putting pool and snooker tables into retirement homes to keep the old duffers active instead of sitting around playing cards all day long or watching TV.
What a great idea, I have friend who is something to do with inspecting retirement homes, I may mention this.
Also, TD maybe a new source of clientele for you
Maybe not
I believe starting in your 40s with some natural ability, a bag load of hours of quality coaching, practice and sparing 6-10 hours a week seasonally. It could be possible to make a 100 in practice after five years.
I dunno... Certain things in life make you generally a positive person or negative. In the past few years i've definitely been the former.
I firmly believe that if something is physically possible for a person to do, it's simply down to will and dedication.
I know what you mean. There's no denying though, you would need a bit of flare to be inspired and be able to see the progress or you'd be banging your head against a brick wall. And how long can anyone do that for, even if you where nuts about the game.
Well just home from a day of Snooker at Terry's teaching facility. And yes he tought me a thing or two again. Of course he won every game but I did give a bit of a challenge a couple times. Good thing is he says I am improving but sometimes my shot choice is dispecible which we both agree my 115 year old 5x10 table with very very tight pockets could be to blame. All in all I had a great day. Thanks Terry.

I just come up from an hour of practice, after a day playing with Terry it is amazing how you think and how you play. i just had one of my better practice sessions, shot wise and thought wise and finished off by runing the colours on my second attempt. As I said in a previous quote, if you play with better players you cannot help but get better too bad we do not have clubs around here.

Thanks Les. We were a little late getting started for watching the 6-red final and missed the first frame and part of the second but we saw the rest on and off while we were practicing. Why can't Mark Davis do that in a regular tournament?
I can tell Les' table is too tight as he would pass on almost any ball near a cushion and to a corner pocket and one time I had to convince him to play a 3/4-black off the spot instead of rolling a pink to the middle. With a little stun on the black he would end up with a choice of 4 reds and with rolling the pink only one. He finally chose the black, ended up perfect of 3 or the reds and carried on to run either 24 or 32, can't remember now.
I recommended he immediately take down his 10ft table and get a 12ft one even though he is shy a little room on the sides as it's ruining his shot selection.
Bloody hell Dean ..........do you sit alone in train spotters corner ???????
no, not alone, usually me and a couple of mates in train.. - er, snooker corner
when snooker is on terrestrial they will put it on one of the large screens for us
The pubs i go in you stand up with music playing, no place for a laptop there
it is the local "estate" pub - with an old man in his regular chair reading the paper, Spanish-broadcast football on the big screen, the barman looking at the want-ads - not quite spit and sawdust but you get the picture
